This guy’s humor is not just emitted through the comedic anecdotes he shares, but also through the antics he projects along with his funny punch lines. A professional comedian, who is around the entertainment industry for quite a long time, Kevin Hart is undoubtedly a crowd-pleaser with high energy during his performances.
Born on July 6, 1979 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Kevin admits that he was naturally funny even as a young boy and did a lot of silly things. His first job was not in comedy though. He used to work as a shoe salesman in an athletic store before romping his way to the world of comedy.
After winning in six amateur comedy competitions, a friend suggested that he pursue with his career in comedy. Thinking that the $75 he was earning a week was enough to pay his rent, he quitted his job and decided to embark on the journey of stand-up comedy full time.
His first stints with comedy were at bars such as at Boston Comedy Club, Caroline’s, Stand-Up NY, The Improvisation, The Laugh Factory and the Comedy Store in Los Angeles. After getting hooked in these stage acts, there was no stopping Kevin. With his knack in pulling off truly funny performances, he eventually entertained a greater number of audiences, and was then featured in bigger shows.
After his successful comedy act at the Montreal Comedy Festival, he got his debut in films through the movie Paper Soldier (2002). Following that, he starred in more movies such as Scary Movie 3 (2003), Soul Plane (2004), Along Came Polly (2004), Superhero Movie (2008), and Death at the Funeral (2010).
Aside from being successful in movies he was also able to write, co-produce and star in ABC sitcom The Big House which debuted in April 2, 2004 and ran for six episodes. The following year, he was also starred in his own 30-minute special on Comedy Central. That same year is a true blessing for him, as he got two precious awards: the Platinum Mic Viewers Choice Award at the BET Comedy Awards and his baby daughter Heaven Leigh. It was after two years, on October 8, 2007, when Hart had his second baby Hendrix.
From gracing comedy bars, movies and the television, Kevin Hart is no thought about stopping. He says that there is still much he wants to do and does not want to get complacent. Having been in the entertainment industry for 12 years, Hart has spanned his talent in music videos and advertisements as well.
He appeared in Three 6 Mafia’s music video for “Lolli Lolli (Pop That Body)” in 2008 and in a series of eBay commercial the following year.
Behind all the success he has achieved, Kevin says he stays a husband, a father, and a man full of goals who is hungry for success, but at the same time enjoys life.
